i'm makin this game

I’m thrilled to announce that I’m developing a new indie game using the Godot engine. The game is called Orlia: The Forgotten Colony, and it’s a 2D top-down pixel art sci-fi life sim game that challenges you to find your place in a forgotten world.

Orlia is a planet that was once colonized by the Interstellar Corporation Confederation (ICC), the powerful conglomeration of for-profit entities that which governs humanity in the future, sought to exploit the planet’s resources and oppress the native aliens. Their real intention was to find a rare and powerful resource called Chronite, which has a mysterious connection to the spirit, so they could study it, weaponize it, turn it into machines, etc. Due to resistance from the native Orlians and finding far less Chronite on Orlia than they expected, the ICC deemed the colony unprofitable and abandoned it years ago. leaving the colonists to fend for themselves.

You are a survivor who crash lands on Orlia and joins the community of humans and aliens who live there. You must adapt to the unique environment, learn the culture and history of Orlia, solve the mystery of Orlia's spiritual magic, and make decisions that will shape your destiny and the future of the colony.

The game features a variety of activities and mechanics, such as farming, character progression, crafting, foraging, fishing, dating, marriage, and exploring the deep caves of Orlia. You can also explore the planet and discover its secrets, mysteries, and dangers. The game also deals with themes such as the balance of power between solar and lunar energy, our connection to the spiritual world and our ancestors, and breaking free from the mental prison of beliefs born from a society whose messages are controlled by the greedy and amoral.

The game is still in the early stages of development, but I hope to share more updates and screenshots soon. I’m very passionate about this project and I hope you will enjoy it too. Thank you for your support!

I intend to post a new devlog here every Saturday, but I post progress every day over on X
